### **Land Dispute Alibi Backfires: Court Compels Defendant to Surrender US Passport in Abuja Land Deal Case**
In a dramatic turn of events at an Abuja court, a high-stakes land allocation lawsuit has taken a new twist after the defendant was forced to surrender his American passport to prove his whereabouts during an alleged multi-million-naira transaction.
#### **The Mystery of the Missing Date**
The claimants allege that cash meant to facilitate a lucrative land allocation in Abuja was delivered directly to the defendant on **September 26, 2025**.
However, under sharp cross-examination by the claimants' lead counsel, Ibrahim G. Waru, the defendant fired back with a seemingly airtight alibi: he claimed he was not even in Nigeria on the day in question, having traveled abroad using his United States passport.
#### **Court Forces Defendant's Hand**
Refusing to let the claim slide without proof, the claimants petitioned the judge to compel the defendant to present his travel document to verify the border stamps.
The court granted the order, and on Wednesday, the defendant officially complied, submitting his American passport into judicial custody for inspection. The document will now undergo scrutiny to confirm whether his international travel dates align with his testimony.
With the crucial evidence now before the court, the presiding judge has adjourned the matter, setting **December 12, and 14** for continuation of the hearing.
