The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is ramping up preparations for upcoming elections, focusing on logistics overhauls, technological upgrades, and resolving voter card distribution issues nationwide.

Speaking on the Commission's current operational status, the INEC Chairman revealed that the initial three phases of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise have generated over 10.7 million new entries, marking a significant surge in voter engagement.

### Over 10.7 Million New Voters Registered

According to official figures, the registration drives produced **10,772,421 new registrations**.

However, the Chairman noted that these figures remain preliminary, as all entries are currently undergoing scrutiny through the **Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS)** to eliminate duplicate registrations, underage voters, and false entries before the final voter register is certified.

### Tackling PVC Distribution Bottlenecks

Addressing persistent challenges faced by citizens during card collection, the Chairman called for an immediate resolution to distribution bottlenecks, particularly at the Local Government Area (LGA) level.

He emphasized that administrative delays and logistical hurdles must not prevent eligible Nigerians from obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and exercising their constitutional right to vote.

### Tech Upgrades and "Zero-Failure" Strategy

To restore public confidence and streamline election day operations, INEC is introducing several operational and technological upgrades:

* **Upgraded Result Management:** The Commission is refining its technological architecture, including voter verification devices, result transmission protocols, and the newly introduced **eEC8A** digital result management system.

* **Logistics Protocol:** INEC is adopting a strict **"Zero-Failure" approach** to election day management.

* **Operational Priorities:** The strategy targets the early deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials, seamless transportation networks, enhanced security coordination, and comprehensive training for ad-hoc staff.

With technological refinements and logistics reforms now active, the electoral umpire aims to eliminate early morning delays and operational hitches in future electoral cycles.
