An American teenager who had been missing for nearly nine months was found alive at the Ohio residence of a former schoolteacher, ending a long search led by local law enforcement and federal task forces.

 

The girl originally disappeared on December 2, 2025, from Huckleberry House—a transitional living center for youth in Columbus. She was 16 years old at the time of her disappearance and turned 17 while missing.

The search culminated on August 21 when Springfield police officers, alongside a U.S. Marshals Service task force officer, executed a visit to a property in Springfield identified in court filings as the teenager’s last suspected location.

 

The home belonged to **Jobe Binkley**, a 48-year-old former teacher in the Springfield City School District.

 

* **Third Visit to Property:** According to court filings, this was the third time law enforcement officers had visited Binkley's address while investigating the girl's disappearance.

* **Prior Refusals:** On two previous visits, Binkley reportedly turned officers away, refused to allow searches of the premises, and claimed the missing teenager was not inside.
