### Court Lacks Jurisdiction

During the court proceedings, police prosecutor Maryam Halilu Dantiye informed the court that the case was a fresh charge and requested permission to have the charge sheet read to the accused.

The court clerk, Muhammad Musa Tudun Wada, read the allegations aloud to Liringo. However, full trial proceedings could not commence because the Magistrate Court lacks the legal jurisdiction to try capital offenses like culpable homicide.

**Key Takeaways from the Hearing:**

* **Remand Order:** Magistrate Hauwa Abba Musa ordered Liringo to be remanded in a correctional facility pending formal legal advice and transfer to a higher court with proper jurisdiction.

* **Next Court Date:** The case has been adjourned until **October 6, 2026**.
